This Privacy Policy explains how Betting Tips (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use betting-tips.app and the Betting Tips iOS app (together, the “Services”). Betting Tips is operated by London App Studio Ltd (Company No. 13379239, United Kingdom), which is the controller of your personal data.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account details if you choose to sign in (with an email link, Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In): email address, display name, username and an optional profile photo
- Messages you post in match discussions, plus likes and reports you make on messages
- Preferences and settings in the app (for example notification preferences and odds format)
- Messages you send to us through the contact page
1.2 Information collected automatically in the app
- An app device ID (Apple’s identifier for vendor, or a random ID), used to link your subscription and settings to your device
- Device information (model, device name as reported by iOS, iOS version, app version)
- Country or region from your device settings (we do not use GPS location)
- IP address, from which providers may infer approximate location
- Usage and interaction data, such as screens viewed and buttons tapped, including recordings of how app screens are used
- Diagnostics, crash and performance data
- App install and campaign attribution data
- Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking (see section 3.2)
- Ad request, impression and click data when ads are shown (see section 3)
1.3 Cookies and similar technologies
On the website we use cookies needed for the site to work (a session cookie and a security token that protects forms), and Google Analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. The website does not show ads.
The app does not use browser cookies in the usual sense, but it and its partners use similar technologies: identifiers stored on your device (such as the app device ID, SDK identifiers and, with your permission, the IDFA) and locally stored data. Google uses these to serve and measure ads, to limit how often you see an ad, and to detect fraud.
1.4 Purchases and subscriptions
If you buy VIP access, payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives your purchase and subscription status, linked to your app device ID, so we can unlock VIP features. We do not receive your payment card details.
2. How we use information
- Provide football tips, match pages, match discussions and related features
- Create and manage your account if you sign in
- Operate VIP entitlements and restore purchases
- Send optional push notifications you enable (for example tip alerts)
- Show ads in the free version of the app, and measure and limit them (see section 3)
- Understand how the Services are used, measure marketing campaigns, and fix crashes
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and security issues, and moderate reported messages
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Advertising
3.1 Google AdMob
The free version of the app shows ads (banner, native, interstitial and optional rewarded ads) served by our advertising partner Google, through Google AdMob. Ads are not shown to VIP subscribers.
When an ad is requested, Google may collect or receive information such as your IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, and, if you allow tracking, your IDFA. Google uses it to deliver, measure and improve ads, and to prevent fraud. To learn how Google uses this information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
3.2 Advertising identifier (IDFA) and App Tracking Transparency
The app asks for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Your IDFA is only available to us and our partners if you tap “Allow”. If you don’t allow tracking, you’ll still see ads and can still use the app, but the IDFA won’t be used. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
3.3 Personalised and non-personalised ads
Personalised ads are chosen using information about your past activity and interests. Non-personalised ads are chosen using context, such as the app you are using and your general location, and not your profile. Non-personalised ads still use identifiers and similar technologies for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention. Which ads you get depends on your consent choices (where consent applies) and your tracking permission. If the app can’t load your consent status, it only requests non-personalised ads.
3.4 Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a consent message from Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) and waits for your choice before it requests ads. You can consent, or manage your options and refuse. Your choices apply to Google and the advertising partners listed in that message. If the consent message can’t be loaded, the app only requests non-personalised ads and tries to load it again later.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time in the app: open Settings and tap Privacy Choices under About to reopen the consent message. This option appears when it applies to your region. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect processing that happened before.
4. Partners and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the providers that run parts of the Services:

6. Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including security, legal, and accounting requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised where practicable.
